Fodor's Expert Review
The Brice has been turning heads since it opened in 2014—no detail was spared in the remaking of this 1860s warehouse, which later served as a Coca-Cola bottling plant and then a livery stable. It's a far cry from the typical Savannah establishments. Here, where traditional culture meets curated design, the "New South" comes alive with bellmen in seersucker, locally made furnishings, and accouterments reminiscent of a modern Southern mansion. Special touches include a yoga mat in each of the smartly decorated rooms, a lively wine and hors-d'oeuvres social hour, and fine art from the alumni of the local arts college. Count on making friends as you relax in the Secret Garden courtyard or dine in the chic Italian on-site restaurant called Pacci's. It isn't just pet-friendly, there's even a pet social hour. Missing home? Ask the receptionist for your very own in-room guppy.
You Should Know Although housekeeping is impeccable at the Brice, be forewarned if you have severe pet allergies that you may meet some 4-legged guests in the hallway, elevator, or lobby.

Room
The Brice aims to put an edge on Southern charm, which is what you'll find in the room decor. Velour drapes, luxurious Italian linens, and funky-elegant patterns and colors breathe modern love into antebellum furnishings. Views include Washington Square, historic downtown, or the garden pool. There are 145 guest rooms and 26 suites to choose from.
Tip If the noise on busy Bay Street may disturb you, request a room on the quieter side overlooking the pool.
Bathroom
Many bathrooms have large, standalone soaking tubs. And the toiletries are top-notch: a line inspired by a floating flower market in Amsterdam, the indulgent Atelier Bloem bath and body collection deserves to go home with you.
Lobby
From the moment you enter, the Brice's tasteful boutique experience comes to life in shiny custom loaner bikes, rows of color-coordinated books neatly arranged on underlit shelves, and solicitous concierge service.
Pool
The garden area and pool at the Brice are a guest favorite. The Secret Garden and outdoor patio courtyard areas are lovely escapes from city crowds, and the pool is relatively large and very tempting in sultry Savannah.
Gym
The 24-hour fitness center is modest but adequate, and each guest room is also supplied with a yoga mat.
Dining
Beautifully designed in rustic splendor, Pacci takes traditional Italian cuisine to new heights with locally sourced Southern flair. In the morning, the restaurant serves coffee drinks, smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices and warm pastries.
Drinking
An evening wine hour is hosted nightly from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. When the weather is nice, you can sip serenely in the Secret Garden.

Getting Around
Custom loaner bikes are a whimsical and convenient touch, as biking in historic downtown Savannah is a true pleasure almost year-round. Hop on/hop off trolley tours are also a great way to see downtown Savannah.
Restaurants
The Olde Pink House (7-minute walk) is an old Savannah institution and with good reason. The crispy scored flounder is the house specialty. Looking for a great place to eat brunch with your dog? With a doggie breakfast menu, J. Christopher's (15-minute walk) extends the same canine-friendly service you're used to at the Brice, although you'll still need to snag a spot on their patio. For a fun family dinner, try the high-seas-themed The Pirate's House (2-minute walk).
