The highlight of shopping on the Placencia Peninsula is going to the grocery store, and the largest (Wallen's Market and Top Value) are about the size of convenience stores, so you get the picture. The larger resorts, including Robert's Grove and Turtle Inn, do have gift shops. In Placencia Village a few small gift shops and arts-and-craft galleries are on the Sidewalk and the Main Street.

This small gift shop on the main street of Placencia Village sells locally made jewelry, mostly from seashells, as well as leather bags and natural soaps.
Stop by for a sample of Tiburon, Belize's newest handcrafted rum. (Tiburón means "shark" in Spanish.) The knowledgeable folks here will provide a mixology lesson too.
The oldest grocery in Placencia, Wallen's Market has the basics, and it's even air-conditioned. Wallen's also has a pharmacy and a separate hardware store.
