Much of the best shopping is along the Ermou Street bazaar. Here you can buy a little of everything, from food (especially olive oil and ouzo) to pottery, wood carvings, and embroidery.
Lesvos produces 50 brands of ouzo, and George Spentzas's shop, Veto, right on the main harbor, has made its own varietals on the premises since 1948. It also sells local food products such as olive oil, olives, dried fruit, and hilopites (pasta). It's open Monday through Saturday, 7 am to 10 pm.
