Fodor's Expert Review El Batán

Although the regional food is quite good, the real feast here is the visual one: the restaurant building is a beautiful 18th-century mansion and the patio dining area, including a stained-glass roof, has iron chairs and a stone floor. The indoor dining room is just so-so though. In addition to picturesque surroundings, this criollo restaurant has specialty meat dishes, a menu in English as well as Spanish, a small art gallery upstairs, and live music on weekends.
