Fodor's Expert Review Hogstone's Wood Oven
Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.
An intimate, minimalist space with large windows and just a handful of tables, this hip locavore-minded pizza joint (a James Beard Award semifinalist in 2019) serves wood-fired pies with creative toppings—consider the one with new potatoes, crispy pork fat, chickweed, cultured cream, and uncured garlic. The bounteous, farmers'-market-sourced salads are another strength, and the wine list, with varietals from the Northwest and Europe, is exceptional. The bad news? Reservations aren't accepted, and the wait on weekend evenings can be 45 minutes or more.
