Seattle Souvenirs

Food and Drink

The Tasting Room in Pike Place Market's Post Alley is a great spot for local wines.

Pick up delectable fair-trade chocolates from Theo Chocolate in Fremont.

Visit Pike Place Market for a bag of famous chocolate-covered cherries by Chukar Cherries (1529 Pike Pl., Downtown 206/623–8043 www.chukar.com), then stop into Fran's Chocolates on 1st Avenue for famous sea-salt caramels.

Seafood isn't the easiest thing to bring home, but if you go to Pike Place Fish Market (at Pike Place Market), the friendly, fish-flinging experts here can ship your purchase across the country for you.

To bring home some coffee beans, pop into a coffee shop—most offer whole or ground coffee by the bag. Many coffee shops roast their own brands, including Caffe Vita, Victrola, Stumptown Coffee, Herkimer Coffee, Lighthouse Roasters, Cafe Vita, and Caffe Fiore.

Music and Literature

Staff recommendations at Sonic Boom Records will help you discover the Northwest's up-and-coming musicians. Elliott Bay Book Company has a good, well-organized selection of local literature and history books, with handwritten staff recommendations to help you pick out the real gems.
