Few hotels or inns in Vermont can match the sumptuous views of Mt. Equinox and surrounding hillscape of this former dairy farm built in 1830, whether seen from the large wraparound porch, the fire pit (where you can roast s'mores), or the outdoor hot tub. Rooms here and in the separate 1790 guesthouse have been given a country-boutique face-lift without sacrificing any of the traditional charm, which is further enhanced by five resident alpacas, sheep, and a lazy, fluffy barn cat.
