Golden Spike National Historic Site

Golden Spike National Historic Site offers a variety of activities in addition to the annual reenactment that celebrates the anniversary of the completion ceremony for the nation’s first Transcontinental Railroad. Replicas of the 1869 steam locomotives operate May to October, and visitors can hike on Big Fill Loop Trail or take two auto tours that detail how the railroad was constructed. In the winter, engine house tours are offered.
