TRAVEL GUIDE

Thousands of visitors travel to Price every year to experience Utah's past through fossils, exhibits, and preservation sites at the Prehistoric Museum, USU Eastern. For being a quite small, mostly blue-collar town, one may not expect to find much excitement here, but they'd be wrong. While Price began as a Mormon farming settlement in the late 1800s, in 1883 the railroad arrived, bringing with it immigrants from around the world to mine coal reserves. As the town expanded, coal became the cash crop of the area, and mining remains the town's primary industry to this day.
