Compared with other coastal destinations in the United States, the Oregon Coast offers a pretty good value. You can typically find clean but basic motels and rustic inns, often with beachfront locations, that have nightly rates well below $150, even in high season. Spring and fall rates often drop by 20% to 30% and the value is even greater in winter. The lodging landscape is dominated by family-owned or independent motels and hotels, vacation rentals, and a smattering of distinctive B&Bs.

Properties in much of the north and central coast fill up fast in the summer, so book in advance. Many lodgings require a minimum two-night stay on a summer weekend.
