About the Hotels

Farmington, Grants, and Gallup are well supplied with chain motels; Cuba also has a couple of decent motels, but Bloomfield has the nicest chain options with relative proximity of Chaco Canyon. There are several appealing B&Bs in the region, including near El Morro on scenic NM 53 south of Grants, and in Farmington. Rooms can fill quickly in spring and fall when weather is ideal, but summer rodeos and other special events—such as the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial—can also shut you out. Booking ahead in summer, especially for busy Farmington and Bloomfield, which are gateways to destinations in other Four Corner states, is a good idea.
