Step back into the Victorian era at this sumptuous inn on the National Register of Historic Places, which features fine antiques and reproductions, luxurious scented linens and down blankets on canopied beds; and a collection of original framed prints from Harper's scattered throughout. Ground-floor rooms are smaller but cozy, with exposed brick walls, beamed ceilings, and, in some cases, windows at eye level with the lush courtyard. Most rooms in the inn, which occupies an 1838 mansion that once served as a bordello, have working gas fireplaces, and three have whirlpool tubs. The aroma of fresh flowers permeates the air. Afternoon tea is served on fine china, the evening social hour features hors d'oeuvres, and a full Victorian bar stocks boutique wines. In-room massage treatments can be arranged.

Room
Radiating antebellum charm, each room is filled with highly decorative textiles with lace touches and intricate patterning. Every room has high-thread-count sheets and insanely comfortable mattresses. Ten of the 16 rooms have working gas fireplaces.
Bathroom
Since the bathroom facilities vary (some have showers and some have large soaking tubs), make sure to inquire about the specifics when booking. All bathrooms are well-maintained, clean and have premium bath products. The complimentary robes are cozy enough to spend the day in.
Lobby
A lovely wrought-iron banister leads visitors up an exterior staircase to the entranceway of the inn. The intricate woodwork of the paneling, banisters, and molding in the foyer of the inn are delightful. Cushioned furniture in the main sitting area makes it easy to relax after a long day exploring the town. There is an elevator.
Tip Although the inn does not accept pets, they partner with local boarding/doggy daycare Catnip ‘n’ Biscuits to accommodate your traveling furry friends.
Dining
Breakfast with several different menu options is served daily. In-room continental breakfast is also available upon request. High Tea is served at 4 p.m. and includes tea sandwiches, cream scones, and pastries. Hors d 'oeuvres are served in the evenings at the bar.
Drinking
As bars are becoming more scarce in smaller hotels and B&Bs, we appreciate that theirs is open all day and offers complimentary port and sherry. The Inn also has a diverse selection of beer.

Getting Around
Savannah’s Historic District is pedestrian-friendly, so feel free to leave your car behind when you venture out. In minutes you can walk to the heart of downtown Savannah. Trolley Tours are also a great way to see the sights while learning a bit of local history, often from colorful characters.
Restaurants
If you’ve never had a South African sandwich, we suggest that you stop by Zunzi’s (3-minute walk) during your stay.
The Collins Quarter (2-minute walk) is a perfect southern-inspired brunch/lunch/dinner spot, complete with embellished mimosas and extravagantly flavored coffee drinks. The Olde Pink House (7-minute walk) is an old Savannah institution and with good reason. The crispy scored flounder is the house specialty.
Bars
Artillery (6-minute walk) serves some of the most delicious cocktails in town in a cozy space, fitted with fabulously appointed details. Sharp-dressed bartenders pour their rare ingredients like scientists. Serving more than 40 wines by the glass, In Vino Veritas (5-minute walk) also offers fine cheeses to pair with them.
