Centreville

TRAVEL GUIDE

The village is aptly named: Centreville, Delaware, founded in 1750 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was a midway point between the farms of Kennett Square and the markets of Wilmington. The tiny village, with a historic tavern and some art and antiques shops, is in the middle of the Brandywine Valley's attractions. Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, and the Brandywine River Museum are all less than 5 miles away. Kennett Pike (Route 52) runs through the village; the surrounding two-lane roads take you through some of the still-bucolic parts of the valley.
