Hyatt Grand Regency Indian Wells Resort
44-600 Indian Wells La., Indian Wells, California 92210, United StatesWhy We Like It
This playground for kids, adults, and even business travelers, is like its own tiny city. We love how inclusive the amenities are and all the emphasis on outdoor and child-centered fun that can be had. Though it has a few fewer dining options that some other nearby resorts, it's far more affordable too.
Fodor's Expert Review
This property really lives up to the resort concept, with seven pools, three restaurants, a spa, and surrounded by the Indian Wells Golf Resort. Guests will no doubt enjoy a rich vacation experience without ever needing to leave the property. The imposing sand-colored building to the left of the golf club shares a private drive with the neighboring Renaissance Esmeralda and is directly across the road from the Hyatt’s own Indian Wells Conference Center.
Tip The resort’s Camp Hyatt, designed for ages 3-12, provides kids with history and science as they learn about desert animals and plants and the area’s history in a fun, tailored day-camp, with built-in time to play on the water slide, too.

Room
The building boasts an impressive number of patios and terraces with 452 sleeping rooms and 70 suites, including penthouse and villa options. The decor, with pops of orange and modern art, is chic and sleek, especially compared to typical resorts and hotel chain properties. Guests in town for business will appreciate the modern desks, iPod docks, and huge flat-screen HDTVs.
Bathroom
The marble dotted bathrooms are comfortably sized. Showers have rain shower heads and toiletries are from KenetMD, a boutique line of products from a top New York dermatologist.
Lobby
The modern purple furniture, surrounded by plants, looks fantastic under the soft glowing lights. The dark wood in the exposed beam ceilings is echoed in the front desks.
Pool
With so many pools to count it can be easy to lose track. The main things to note are that two pools occupy the main pool area, including a 60-foot water slide and cabana rental. The Oasis pool is an adult-only lap pool and hot tub in its own semi-private area.
Spa
Agua Serena Spa treatments are heavy on massage options with Swedish therapy, hot stone, tension relief, and reflexology all as options. Other services, like facials, body wraps, and a full-service salon are also available.
Gym
The fitness center is open 24 hours. Both group classes and personal trainers are available, in addition to the well-supplied gym. Aside from the indoor gym, the Hyatt has loaner cruiser bikes that guests are welcome to use to roam the 45-acre property, as well as tennis, badminton, bocce ball, croquet, and a host of other indoor and outdoor sporting opportunities.
Dining
For coffee, tea, and grab-and-go items, visit Citrus Marketplace and Café near the lobby, which also has a gourmet chocolate display. Lantana offers global cuisine and farm-fresh produce for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a Sunday brunch buffet. The Roadrunner Cafe, next to the main pool, is the spot for light lunches and afternoon snacks, like burgers, fish tacos, salads, and sandwiches.
Drinking
The cocktail menu at Agave Sunset Lounge is inspired by the desert and boasts its own private label tequila. Open from 2 p.m. until midnight, there’s also an impressive wine collection available. For swimmers and loungers, the Oasis Poolside Bar opens at 10 a.m. daily.
