Why We Like It

Century Plaza Hotel and Spa might not be as fancy as some other properties in the city, but the spacious suites, ensuite kitchens, fun amenities (like the on-site comedy club), and reasonable price tag make this a hotel you'll definitely want to consider on your next trip to the Vancouver area.

Fodor's Expert Review

If you're looking for a property that has a little something for everyone, look no further than the Century Plaza Hotel and Spa. Thanks to the suite-style rooms, this high-rise property is a solid choice if you're traveling with a family—but has plenty of amenities, like an on-site spa and standup comedy club, to keep adults entertained.

Room

The suites at Century Plaza Hotel and Spa are spacious, comfortable, and come equipped with full kitchens or kitchenettes (which can definitely save you a few dollars on your food budget). While the decor won't win any style awards, the rooms have a cozy feel that will appeal to families.

Tip Request a north-facing room on a higher floor for fantastic views of the mountains and ocean or a corner suite, which comes equipped with a private balcony.

Bathroom

The bathrooms, which have floor-to-ceiling tile, are comfortably spacious and come stocked with Spa Binge Organic bath products.

Lobby

The marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and contemporary decor make for an attractive lobby, but there's not much going on there, so it's not a spot you'll want to hang out.

Tip The lobby might not be a great place to hang, but you'll definitely want to check out The Comedy Mix, one of Vancouver's top standup comedy spots and a standout feature at the Century Plaza Hotel and Spa.

Pool

You can hit the indoor pool from 8am to 10pm daily.

You Should Know There's not a lot of seating in the pool area, so if you were planning on relaxing poolside with a drink or a book, you're probably going to need to rethink your plans.

Spa

The Absolute Spa, the "spa" in Century Plaza Hotel and Spa's title, is a true oasis in the middle of the city. Relax in the eucalyptus steam room before getting a treatment in one of the nine treatment rooms. If you're traveling with your significant other, make sure to reserve a couple's suite and book a massage for two.

Gym

The 24/7 fitness center has everything you need to get your workout on, including treadmills, stationary bikes, and free weights.

Dining

Since all rooms have kitchenettes or full kitchens, you can definitely whip up a meal in your room, but if you want to dine elsewhere in the hotel, you can grab a panini and soup at The Beyond Coffee Cafe or enjoy a rustic Italian meal at C|Prime.

Drinking

C|Prime, which has great drink specials during their happy hour (3:30pm to 10pm daily), offers an impressive wine list—with at least a few bottles to fit every budget.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

Century Plaza Hotel and Spa is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver—an incredibly easy area to navigate on foot. There's also easy access to public transportation (you can catch the SkyTrain at Vancouver City Centre Station, just a few minutes away). If you do bring a car, it's $17 per night for self-parking.

Restaurants

Le Crocodile (3-minute walk) is one of the most popular restaurants in Vancouver, combining traditional French cooking techniques with West Coast flavors. Splurge on the tasting menu (at $85 per person, it's worth every penny) or order a few entrees for the table, like the New Zealand venison and Duck Confit with a black truffle cream sauce and a citrus reduction. For something quick and casual, build your own poke bowl at Poke Bar (2-minute walk) or try one of their signature dishes, like the spicy ahi tuna or Atlantic salmon-based Twin Dragon.

Bars

Cure what ails you with a cocktail from The Keefer Bar (8-minute drive). This eclectic bar offers up a menu of craft cocktails they've dubbed “remedies and cures”—and with $5 whiskey specials, they're definitely a solid remedy for spending too much on liquor. You can also check out Brix & Mortar (13-minute walk), where you can enjoy a signature cocktail (which all have punny titles, like Cognac Thank You Enough and The Notorious P.I.P.) in the glass-covered courtyard bar.
