Few Guna lodges have English speakers, though you can hire an English-speaking guide in Panama City to accompany you. Flights to Guna Yala depart at 6 am, and ground transportation often leaves at 5 am—at least the higher-end lodges serve you breakfast when you arrive. Bring plenty of sunblock, a hat, insect repellent, a water bottle, and cash.
