Room

The 174 rooms of this large hotel are stylish and clean with warm wood floors and a handsome tasteful color scheme of blacks, greys, and whites. The rooms range from standard to suite and the latter come with their own private balconies. Guests can expect the standard luxuries of a 21st century hotel like flat screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and adjustable AC. The rooms have you covered on food and drinks with available room service, complimentary artisanal water, a mini-bar, and espresso machines.

Tip Ask for a room on a higher floor for spectacular views of the city.

Bathroom

Bathrooms are generously spacious here with a simple yet elegant design of tone tile floors and walls, big vanity mirrors, full baths, and cool frosted glass countertops.

Lobby

The sprawling lobby feels like a new airport terminal but with much better seating. Leather furniture peppers the open space with high ceilings and tall windows that let in tons of natural light.

Dining

The hotel houses a fine-dining restaurant that serves a mix of both local and international cuisine in a tasteful space with floor-to-ceiling windows and floral table arrangements. If you’re in a rush it’s a great place to eat otherwise we’d suggest walking to the old town for the spectacular food options there.

Tip The breakfast buffet here is simply enormous and everyone will be able to find something to their liking here.

Drinking

A contemporary hotel bar is tucked away in the open lobby space with a great cocktail menu and lots of comfortable leather seating to relax on.

Getting Around

Vitoria-Gasteiz is about an hour’s drive from Bilbao and the airport and there are both trains and busses that run regularly from Vitoria to the other cities of the region including San Sebastián, Bilbao, and Pamplona. Those arriving by car will find onsite parking for a nightly fee. Vitoria-Gasteiz itself is very walkable, with a romantic old town full of thin cobblestone streets and historic buildings waiting to be explored.

Restaurants

Vitoria’s historic old town is the place to be for indulging in the creative cuisine that has made the Basque Country so famous. Toloño (10-minute walk) is considered by many locals to be the best pintxo bar in town. Zalidiarán (3-minute walk) is for the foodies who don’t mind spending a little bit more to experience the innovative gastronomy that has earned the fine dining restaurant a well-deserved Michelin star.

Bars

The grand 19th century Plaza de España is our favorite place in Vitoria for late afternoon and evening drinks on a warm summer night. It is an enchanting setting with great bars lining the perimeter. La Unión (7-minute walk) and La Vecina (7-minute walk) are both worth your time.
