Bratislava

A punchline during Saturday Night Live's Wild and Crazy Guys sketches during the 1970s, Bratislava more recently revealed its true riches to a new generation of travelers. It's small, but exceedingly quaint old town is truly charming, not just for its narrow, twisting cobbled streets, but for a quirky spirit that's evident in the galleries and street art. The city is also filled with stunning historical beauty, most notably the four-tower castle overlooking the city, the pastel 18th-century buildings, and centuries-old churches in the old town.
