This stylish hotel was once the home of a prime minister, and it retains architectural features like the wrought-iron elevator and walls lined with 2,000 gold-leaf lions. High ceilings and huge windows in the guest rooms are married with modern design, and bathrooms (all with bath and shower) are spacious, too. The restaurant now serves dinner; some dishes have curious names like Tin of Mackerel and Stuffed Bird. Eating will reveal all.
