The Conifers

56 Pilrig St., Edinburgh, Edinburgh, EH6 5AS, Scotland, Leith, Scotland

Why We Like It

Great prices for a B&B just on the edge of the center that offers a friendly welcome and a comfortable sleep, with a wide breakfast choice. Plus the surrounding area is a bit more normal Edinburgh, with more local eating and drinking options.

Fodor's Expert Review

This small B&B in a red-sandstone town house north of the New Town offers simple, traditionally decorated rooms and warm hospitality at great prices. Framed prints of old Edinburgh adorn walls done up in pale hues. The owners, Liz and David, have a wealth of knowledge about what to see and do in Edinburgh, and are happy to share it.

Bathrooms are small but functional.

Lobby

The elegant period building (with the namesake conifers outside lining the flowerbeds) has a pleasant approach, and the welcome is genuine when you get through the front door.

Dining

There's plenty of choice at breakfast for carnivores and vegetarians alike.
