Fodor's Expert Review Rembrandt Hotel

11 Smardan St., Bucharest, Bucuresti, 030071, Romania Fodor's Choice

A modern Dutch-owned hotel housed in an historic building in the center of Bucharest's charming old city, there's plenty of great reasons to stay here, starting with large, comfortably furnished rooms—all with hardwood floors, Turkish rugs, leather easy chairs, and Tiffany style lamps. Bathrooms are modern, roomy, and sparkling clean. The friendly staff will try to accommodate walk-ins, but you’re better off booking well in advance since the 16 rooms fill up most nights. The compact balcony room, on the hotel's top floor, has an adorable private balcony terrace with beautiful views of the old city. A huge bonus: the hotel's lively wine bar and the Van Gogh Café under vaulted ceilings.
