Delightful Glossa is the island's second-largest settlement, where whitewashed, red-roof houses are clustered on the steep hillside above the harbor of Loutraki. Venetian towers and traces of Turkish influence remain; the center is closed to traffic. This is a place to relax, dine, and enjoy the quieter beaches. Just to the east, have a look at Agios Ioannis Monastery, dramatically perched on a rock jutting out from the mountains. Walk over a rocky outcrop on the right to reach a small but pretty white-pebble beach.
