Apostrophe Hôtel
3 rue de Chevreuse, 6e, Paris, 75006, FranceWhy We Like It
Though the décor may not appeal to some, no one can say it's not fun, imaginative, or unique. But it's the quality of welcome and service that really do this hotel proud, not to mention a great location and attractive prices.
Fodor's Expert Review
Those enamored of the artistic and literary history of Paris's Left Bank will appreciate this whimsical family-run hotel between Montparnasse and the Luxembourg gardens. The unique decor was created by local artists and each room has a different theme. This small hotel is intimate, service-oriented, and blessed with a fabulous location, which anyone who knows Paris will recognize and those who don't should take our word for it.
Tip Guest rooms are in keeping with this petit hotel's intimate theme. If you're of ample proportions or just need a little more elbow room, consider an upgrade, as the expense is minimal.

Room
Sixteen themes for 16 rooms may include screen-printed curtains, ceiling-mounted artwork, hand-painted walls, and anything from an oversized treble clef to typewriter keys for your ebullient décor. Musicians, poets, and writers will enjoy clever decorative motifs designed with their specific metier in appropriately named rooms.
You Should Know Some rooms can be quite, shall we say, exuberant. If you find Eiffel Tower girders crisscrossing the ceiling or a book splayed open as though poised to pin you to the bed disturbing, be sure to ask for fluffy clouds instead.
Bathroom
Like the rooms, bathrooms have their own forceful personalities, and that extends to the "hydromassage" jet showers and Jacuzzi-style baths. Spotlessly clean and modern, they are also spacious enough considering the small rooms sizes.
You Should Know If you are not on intimate terms with your travel companion you may not appreciate the open baths in some rooms. Be sure to check when booking.
Lobby
The hotel facade's flower-painted theme extends into the small reception area and up the staircase, though there isn't really a lobby to speak of, only a breakfast room. You will find newspapers and magazines available to read in the breakfast room.
Dining
A standard continental breakfast offers choices like yogurt, charcuterie, and cheese if you like. Breakfast in bed is encouraged at no extra charge.

Getting Around
The Vavin and Raspail metro stations are within a few minutes of the hotel. Gare Montparnasse, a train station and metro hub, serving four lines, is a five-minute walk. Port-Royal RER also five minutes away take you direct to both airports.
This is a fantastic neighborhood close to so many different neighborhoods with so much to explore, including the many historic, culinary, and cultural pleasures of Montparnasse, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the 7e, and the Latin Quarter, not to mention some amazing shopping. Though you're ideally located for the metro and RER, walking around here is a singular pleasure, since distances are relatively short and this is a storied part of Paris, where you can discover one of the city's great cemeteries, the Catacombs, Paris's best garden, and some excellent smaller cultural centers, like the Fondation Cartier and the Musée Zadkine tucked away in a leafy garden.
Restaurants
This corner of Paris boasts some of the city's great brasseries, so you might as well do what the many artists and writers who once populated this area used to do: hunker down in a red leather banquette and feast on a towering seafood platter served on a mound of ice at Le Dôme or Le Coupôle, another icon, a few steps down the boulevard. For the ultimate budget meal five minutes from the hotel, Rue du Montparnasse is Paris's crêperie central, with several of the city's best. We like La Crêperie Josselin for a classic savory galette and a dry artisanal cider. Bread and Roses, near the park on Rue Madame, is well known for its quiches, salads, sandwiches, and American-style desserts.
