Fodor's Expert Review London Marriott Hotel County Hall
Westminster Bridge Rd., London, Greater London, SE1 7PB, England
This grand hotel on the Thames enjoys perhaps the most icon-heavy view in the city—right next door is the London Eye, and directly across the Thames are the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Until the 1980s this building was the seat of London's government, and the public areas are suitably imposing, full of pedimented archways, bronze doors, and acres of polished mahogany. All the business-friendly bells and whistles you could ever want are available, and many of the stylish but unfussy modernist rooms have that aforementioned amazing view.
PROS
- handy for South Bank arts scene, the London Eye, and Westminster
- great pool
- helpful staff
CONS
- quite pricey
- rooms facing the river cost extra
- long hallways a bit daunting
