Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Kinsky Garden
Holečkova 7, 150 00, Czech Republic
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
You could walk the mile from this pleasant hotel to Prague Castle entirely on the tree-lined paths of Petřín, the hilly park that starts across the street. The hotel, which takes its name from a garden established by Count Rudolf Kinsky in 1825, is nicer than most accommodation options at this price, with hardwood floors and flat-screen TVs in every one of its bright rooms. Aim for a room on one of the upper floors for a view of the park. With Švandovo divadlo tram stop a two-minute walk away, it's easy to reach anywhere in Prague.
Room rates in summer are often three times as high as those out of season.
PROS
- great parkside location for runners
- easy access to airport and city
- good value out of season
CONS
- expensive bar (go out for a drink)
- short uphill walk from the tram
- beds on the firm side
