Viktora Huga 3 , Prague, Praha 150 00, Czech RepublicWhy We Like It
It's basic, but it's very affordable. And the location is interesting--Smíchov has everything you need as well as good transport links to the center (or it's not a long walk) and attractive buildings in its own right.
Fodor's Expert Review
For those travelers who like to stay in more "local" spots, this is for you. Smíchov is more of a self-contained neighborhood now than ever before, with sleek Czech restaurants, and the shopping and movie theaters of the Nový Smíchov mall a few shorts steps away. The wine cellar serves as a breakfast room and can be booked for group dinners. As a hotel, it's clean and functional, in an attractive blue building, but doesn't go beyond what is necessary to make it outstanding.
Tip It's a 15-minute walk to the historic center.

Room
Rooms feature pretty uninspiring striped bed covers and spotted chairs, and are fairly basic, but clean. They include a TV, safe, minibar, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
You Should Know Rooms are locked from the inside with real keys rather than key cards, which some guests have found a bit disconcerting.
Bathroom
Bathrooms are old but functional, although the bath-tubs are small.
Lobby
The hotel lobby is a little bland and outmoded, and the welcome can be mixed, but at this price it's hard to complain.
Tip The hotel is always locked, and you buzz for entry.
Dining
There is no restaurant on-site, but breakfast is served in the hotel's cellar.
Drinking
The bar is little more than chairs in the lobby--get out onto the streets around you to experience real Czech drinking culture in the many local pubs.
What's Nearby
Getting Around
The hotel is right by Arbesovo náměstí tram stop, or a few minutes' walk from Anděl Metro.
Restaurants
It's not a restaurant exactly, but the square at Anděl has a lovely, local farmers' market every Friday (6-minute walk), with plenty of ready-to-eat options or ingredients and treats to take home, like traditional honey wine. Or sample some tasty pan-Balkan fare at friendly local restaurant, Luka Lu (13-minute walk).
