Fodor's Expert Review Takenoko
The menu of this utterly chic restaurant offers everything from sushi (both traditional Japanese rolls and American-style varieties) and teriyaki to wok dishes and specialties such as carrot and tofu soup or sea bass in jalapeño-wasabi sauce. Manned by head chefs Moto Mochizuki and Nenad Stošić, Takenoko gives meaning to the word fusion, merging Asian and European cuisine. Black chairs, black place mats, and cherry-toned wood floors set the scene in one of the glittery, glass-walled spaces in this Lower Town hotspot. The drinks menu—including sake, of course—is extensive.
