Fodor's Expert Review Lime Inn
The vacationers and mainland transplants who call St. John home like to flock to this cozy courtyard spot for the congenial hospitality and good food. There's still old favorites like clam chowder and key lime pie, but the second-generation owners have elevated the flavors with new Caribbean and Latin twists on the classics. Try the grass-fed beef tenderloin with a red wine guava sauce, or a whole red snapper—head to tail—smothered in garlic butter sauce with a side of Puerto Rican--style rice and beans. The four- and six-course tasting menus provide a nice sampling of the fare. Owners also run the Lime Out, a floating taco bar off Coral Bay.
