The largest and most populous of the Netherlands Antilles is 38 miles (61 km) long and no more than 7½ miles (12 km) wide. Its capital, Willemstad, has been restored and revived over the past few years and is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site. The colorful waterfront town houses are unique to the island.
