Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Premier

8–13–1 Ginza, Chūō-ku, Tokyo, 104-0061, Japan

Why We Like It

Misui Garden Hotel is a less expensive option if you want to stay in the high-end area of Ginza. The hotel rooms are spacious, the bathrooms have amazing views, and the restaurant and bar are both serviceable. Not a ton of amenities here, but it’ll encourage you to get out and explore the chic neighborhood around the hotel. You don’t exactly get what you pay for, but it’s close.

Fodor's Expert Review

Housed inside a massive office building, this few frills hotel is primarily for business types who work, play, shop, eat, and drink in the fashionable Ginza area. Because of the area, hotel prices are typically higher, but Misui Garden is reasonable, considering the lack of amenities (no pool, spa, or gym). Make sure you revel in the views as there’s no taller building in the neighborhood.

Room

Rooms are small, but not obnoxiously (you’ll have room for your luggage), and come with free water, coffee, tea, and amazing views. Each room is supplied with a Handy device which gives guests free Wi-Fi access anywhere in the city along with international phone calls.

Bathroom

Make sure to take a bath as you’ll be treated with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over Ginza. You’ll also find Thal Goja Pon products, chic black or white tiled floors, raised sinks, and washlet toilets.

Lobby

Perfect for business types, the onyx-floored lobby has comfy gray couches and ottomans, a business center, and stunning views of Tokyo Tower. It’s a great place to hole up and work for an afternoon.

Spa

There’s no spa, but guests can order in-room massages and nail care appointments.

Dining

The aptly named restaurant Sky is a health-forward spot that incorporates fresh veggies into meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Aptly named because the views over Ginza are quite epic.

Drinking

Karin is the hotel bar, named after the 600-year-old Chinese quince piece of wood that is the bar’s countertop. Come after 8pm on weekdays and your ears will be treated to live jazz.

Tip Make sure you let them know you’re staying in the hotel – otherwise you’ll be charged a cover of 500 Yen on weekends and 900 Yen on weekdays.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

Ginza is meant to be walked through and you’ll find yourself minutes away from some of the best shopping, restaurants, and bars in the city. If you want to rest your heels, you’re 5-minutes away from the Shinbashi Subway Station.

Restaurants

A great sushi option without breaking the bank can be found at Kyubey (4-minute walk). If you want your food fried, check out Bairin (4-minute walk) for tonkatsu tastiness.

Bars

Although a little kitschy, Ginza Lion (4-minute walk) is a Bavarian beer hall that serves (very) tall brews and fried bar food to match. Whiskey connoisseurs should check out Bar High Five (7-minute walk) with over 200 choice selections and a master bartender.
