Fodor's Expert Review Pension Puppy Tail
30--16 Wakamatsu-cho, Hakodate, Hokkaido, 040-0063, Japan
The welcoming Fukui family will greet you at the train station, though it's just a 10-minute walk away from this inn named after their red setter's tail (they thought it looked like the Hakodate part of the Hokkaido map). Rooms in the newer annex have private bathrooms. Breakfast and dinner should be reserved the day before. There is free Wi-Fi, but only in the lobby.
PROS
- genuine family welcome
- walking distance to station
- free Wi-Fi in lobby
CONS
- in the opposite direction from the sights
- some rooms very small and with dated decor
- no credit cards
