On a rooftop—there are many steps to climb—with views of the Jagdish Temple (and not much more), this well-liked backpacker establishment borrows its name, audaciously, from the famous Parisian restaurant. This Maxim's is strictly vegetarian, with a huge selection of Indian dishes—from Chinese food to baked beans on toast. Adventurous eaters might try the Rajasthani Pizza, a greasy concoction of cheese, veggies, and tomato sauce, sandwiched between two chapattis and deep-fried. The lassis here are some of the best in town. Beer is available.
