Planning Your Time

Rabat's airport is developing fast, but more flights to this region still land in Casablanca, so it may be best to start there. After a few days exploring the city that constitutes Morocco's economic heart, you’ll probably be in search of some peace, so head north toward Rabat, stopping at Mohammedia for an afternoon. While in Rabat, spend a few days admiring the magnificent architecture, elegant restaurants, and lively medina. For an even more peaceful atmosphere, skip farther north to Moulay Bousselham, a bird-lover’s paradise. To explore the southern parts of the area, stop by Azemmour and El Jadida on your way to Oualidia. You need a good two weeks to complete this tour fully, although some visitors prefer to focus on just the two cities and make brief day trips to some surrounding beach towns.
