Hello,

I知 trying to plan a visit to MoMA during our long-ish layover from JFK. We land at 10:45am and our international connecting flight leaves at 7:45pm on a Thursday this summer.
Please advise:
- Should we take the subway or catch a cab/uber? Same both ways?
- What time should we arrive back at the airport? Flying Delta.
- We値l have some backpacks, can we/should we store them at the airport? I think they値l be too big for MoMA. We壇 like the ease of not waiting around to check them there, but also don稚 want a hassle when we get downtown.

FYI: this is not our first time to NYC, but is our first visit to MoMA and heading to Manhattan during a layover.

International check-in is three hours before flight time. The fastest way to get to MOMA from JFK is to take the airtrain to Jamaica and get on the E to 53rd St, Fifth Avenue which is the second stop in Manhattan. I don't know whether or not you can check a backpack at the coat check at MOMA but you can call to find out. The museum is open 7 days a week other than Thanksgiving and Christmas so that shouldn't be an issue.

I think that when you buy your tickets for the AirtTrain you can also buy a metro card for the subway but you can easily check that out as well.

Yes -- MOMA does have a coat check where a normal sized day/backpack is allowed - max size is 11" ﾗ 17" ﾗ 5". If you mean a large back pack then no they won't accept it.

NYC transit takes contactless payment so no need for tickets. Just be sure to have a tap credit card.

If the backpacks are large and you don't want to check them through at your origin, you can always visit the museum one at a time while the other watches the bags. There are many luggage hero outlets in Manhattan. There's always Penn Station baggage check also, you get free transfers with the tap and pay system but it's an extra subway train.
